We’ve added something a little different to the site: a Recipes corner, for simple, family friendly things to cook and make together, especially with the little ones.
It felt right for a community site. Half the fun of a sunny weekend round here is what’s going on in our own kitchens, and there’s no better way to keep small people busy on a warm afternoon than handing them a job and a wooden spoon.
First up is one from my own kitchen: homemade lemonade, the real thing, made with a jug of fresh lemons and a willing assistant or two. It takes about ten minutes of actual effort, the kids do the squeezing and the tasting, and you end up with two litres of something that tastes like summer. Sticky fingers and a fair bit of giggling are all part of it.
Have a go this weekend if the sun’s out, and let us know how you get on. If you’ve got a family favourite of your own you’d like to see on here, send it our way and we’ll add it to the collection.
