This site is a community website for Shortstown, Cardington, Cople & Cotton End. We keep the personal information we collect to the minimum needed to run it, and we never sell it.

What we collect, and why

• Newsletter subscribers — if you subscribe, we store your email address (and name, if you give it) so we can send you local news and updates.
• Contact messages — if you use the contact form, we store your name, email and message so we can reply.
• Business listings — if you add a business to the directory, we store the details you submit (business name, description, contact details and any image) so we can publish the listing. These details are shown publicly.
• Basic usage analytics — we count page views and which articles and businesses are popular. This is first-party and does not identify you; we don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
• Admin sign-in — site editors sign in with an email and password; this uses a single functional cookie to keep them logged in.

How long we keep it

We keep subscriber details until you unsubscribe, and listing details for as long as the listing is published. Contact messages are kept while we deal with your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards.

Your choices

• You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email we send.
• You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
• Business owners can update their own listing using the private link we email them.

Sharing

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site (hosting, our database, and email delivery). They only process your information on our behalf. We don't share your details with anyone else for marketing.
